I have officially created a pizza that tastes like a burger.
This Big Mac Cheeseburger Pizza is top notch!
Hey everybody!
I hoping you can feel the excitement in this post. Can you feel it? I feel a bit over the moon because I just created what is possibly the world's greatest pizza.
You see I love a good burger. A juicy, over-the-top, mouthwatering burger. Some of my favorite toppings include bacon {duh}, bleu cheese, fried onions, pickles, mayo, every type of cheese known to man and a thick juicy tomato.
The husband and I recently went out to a cool burger joint for dinner and HE ORDERED A TENDERLOIN SANDWICH. This guy loves burgers. Right behind a steak, ribs and lasagna, it's probably one of his favorite meals. I have never, ever, in the history of our 15 years known him to order a tenderloin. Never.
But he ordered it.
And hated it.
Why do people do this to me? Go to places that are known for things {in this case, burgers} and then jump off the cliff and order something totally against their norm? From that point on that night I felt like my night was ruined. Ugh.
Beyond burgers, you all know I love pizza. I love pizza like I love my children. I love pizza like I love a quiet house. I love pizza like I love a beach chair and my book. I love pizza like I love the new show This Is Us {have you seen that show?}.
Whenever I'm sick, I crave pizza. Hold the chicken soup for me. Order this girl a pizza pie and I'm golden. Whenever someone suggests dinner, I suggest pizza. I'm sure I'm quite annoying, but I love the stuff. I'm definitely one of those people who would have no problem eating it a few times a week.
Last week as the two year old and I were running errands we drove by McDonald's. She of course spotted it {how do little kids do that?}.
It got me thinking. A Big Mac is delicious. Pizza is delicious. Why not combine the two? Yes, yes, yes. So when Saturday rolled around and we had a free day, I made pizza for lunch. One cheese and pepperoni for the kids {although they ended up eating this one too} and this Big Mac Cheeseburger version for the husband and I.
You know, if I wouldn't have been so full from chugging a gas station cappuccino an hour prior, I probably would have eaten half of this darn thing.
Thank god for will power.
The sauce? Incredible. The cheeseburger filling? Scrumptious. The crisp lettuce and tomato topping? It really makes it taste just like a cheeseburger.
Take some help from a store bought thin crust pizza crust and this comes together in less than 30 minutes!
