Ah...babies...
So yesterday our dryer died and I pulled weeds for a couple of hours. Two horrible things in my opinion. My hamstrings are aching this morning! I need to get back out there after reading group at the library today and finish.
I will just say this once - I hate weeding flower beds. I like how flowers look, smell, etc., but I cannot stand weeding or the maintenance. If I had the money for a gardener, I would glady invest.
After my day yesterday, I came in last night and made a new dish. I saw it on Taylor's blog, greens and chocolate. I have come to love reading her recipes, and I believe she is a fellow Iowa girl.
You can find the recipe here. The only change I made was adding a little swiss cheese to the dish, because I only had about half of the parmesan cheese it recommended. And, the husband, ate some of my fresh spinach, so I could only add about a cup and a half, but it still turned out great!
I also tried this new pasta, as I had a coupon for a $1 off. Anyone had this?
This is a great dish. Light, yet creamy and oh so delicious. I'm thinking it will be great leftover for lunch later today as well.
Well, I'm off - it's Friday! And a beautiful day as well - sun is shining and I need to get outside!
Wowza! This looks awesome! I love a good pasta dish! I'm craving pasta, but for some reason my hubby isn't a fan of it during the summer! I'm going to have to sneak a meal in next week I think!
ReplyDeletePasta has got to be one of my favorite foods ever! Thanks for sharing the recipe!
ReplyDeleteCongrats Biff! That's so exciting! Babies are so much fun! Oh I hate weeding flower beds too..I'm afraid a snake will pop up on me!
ReplyDeleteFlorentines with spagetti looks awesome, congrats for your friend on having a new baby, they are going to have fun:-)
ReplyDeleteLove this dish- looks like the perfect combination of flavors!
ReplyDeleteI want someone else to pull my weeds too. I always love trying a new pasta dish. I'll head over and check it out. It sounds yummy.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you liked it! Swiss cheese sounds like a great addition to it! By the way, do you ever go to the Iowa City Farmers Market? My mom and I are going tomorrow...I can't wait! I also think we are going to check out the Blue Bird Diner, which is new since I've moved...and hopefully worth a try!
ReplyDeleteDang, and I was just thinking to myself that I crave pasta like crazy. I haven't had good pasta in so long!
ReplyDeleteCongrats to Biff for bearing a new precious life into the world! :-)
Taylor - I've been to the IC farmer's market once, a few years back...just seems I never get over there on Saturday mornings these days! It's about a 30 minute drive, which isn't far, but with a little one sometimes our mornings are hectic! I plan on getting there a few times this summer though - have fun with your mom!
ReplyDeleteSorry about your dryer! My dryer died a few years ago, and I ended up getting an almost new one that someone was giving away at www.freecycle.org. I wonder if they have that in Iowa? It's basically a place where people give things away they don't want anymore!
ReplyDeleteI love your dish! It looks like an easy thing to make on a busy weeknight!
This does look really good:) I think I saw it over at greens and chocolate too!:) too bad about the dryer!! we always have trouble with our washers:(
ReplyDeletei have been craving pasta all weekend, so i may have to try this recipe out. sounds and looks tasty! i agree on the pulling the weeds thing, but that could be part of why i seem to have a black thumb!
ReplyDeleteI am obsessed with Smart Taste! It's the only thing I buy now. Doesn't it taste just like real white pasta? Love it. xxSAS
