Christine look for an email in your inbox yet today.  Hope you enjoy your gift:)

Oh my gosh, now these cookies.  One of our favorite things to do on the weekends is bake a batch of "something".  Whether that be cookies, bars, bread, anything to handle our sweet tooths.  The little man sits up on the counter with me and helps me dump ingredients into the KitchenAid mixer.  He's fascinated with that thing.

But then again, I am too.

I dreamt these up when I saw a half bag of broken up pretzels sitting in our cupboard.  Why not throw them in cookie dough?  I've heard of people crushing up potato chips and putting them in cookies for that sweet/salty effect.  So I dumped them in.

Sweet & Salty Pretzel Cookies
2 c. flour
3/4 c. sugar
3/4 c. brown sugar
3/4 c. cocoa
2 eggs
1 t. vanilla
3/4 c. butter, softened
1 t. baking powder
1 t. baking soda
1 c. crushed pretzels
1/2 c. peanut butter chips
1/2 c. chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Combine butter and sugars, mix until creamy.  Add in eggs and vanilla, mix.  Sift togther flour, cocoa, baking powder and baking soda, then add to wet ingredients until just combined.  Fold in pretzels, peanut butter chips and chocolate chips.

Chill the dough for at least 1 hour or up to 24 hours.  Scoop by rounded cookie scoop or spoon and drop on parchment lined cookie sheet or greased cookie sheet.  Bake for 10 minutes or until just set.  Cool on a wire rack.

Well, I've got a full day of tasks and being at the public library isn't one of them!  Yes, computer is still not working, but we are working on it.  Got the grocery shopping done last night so we are stocked and meals are being planned.

How do you meal plan?

I make a list of the days of the week and then choose a few stand-by meals and a couple new ones to throw in (I only plan for dinner). I leave about 2 days blank in case we go out. I then make a list of the groceries that I need for those meals.
