Cheeseburger Chowder

Everything you love about a cheeseburger in soup!
This creamy, thick chowder comes together in just 30 minutes.

It's one of my favorite times of year, soup season!

It's cold and dreary here in the Midwest and nothing beats a warm bowl of soup - or in this case, chowder.

I've been making this Cheeseburger Chowder for over 10 years. I'm not really sure how it first came together but I'm sure happy it did.

As a busy Mom (I know many of you reading are too) I fully appreciate an easy dinner. We are running from one school activity to another most nights, so if I can have a dinner that comes together pretty easily, it will be made on repeat.

This recipe has simple ingredients and comes together in around 30 minutes start to finish. Nothing really beats that!

It's hearty - potatoes, carrots, ground beef - plus gets creamy and thick from an indulgent homemade cheese sauce.

I can't wait to see you serve your family this one!

And substitutions are fairly easy on this one if you need to make them. Ground beef can be swapped for ground sausage, or if you don't have cheddar cheese on hand you can use any other creamy variety - these simple swaps are well, simple!

And if you want to get extra fancy before serving top each bowl with a doll up of sour cream and crispy bacon.

  3. This is for dinner here tonight! It may not survive the afternoon warming in the crockpot---or I might jump in and take a bath in it. Holy goodness, Batman! :) Thanks for the idea to use up some potatoes I was needing to get rid of.

I didn't have any Rotel so I used about a half jar of picante sauce. Tastes good to me.
