My son, who was six at the time, got this game for Christmas last year. Do I dare say best game ever? He is a thinker. Give him a lego set and he'll have it put together before I'm flipping to page 2 of the directions. He is either going to be a mechanic or engineer in about 20 years, so this Quadrillion game was perfect for him. You child will start on Level 1, working their way through the puzzles. It's even fun for adults!

Our girls received this Melissa & Doug See & Spell puzzle last year as a gift and by far it is the BEST puzzle box around. My five year old still plays with it and our now two year old is just starting to get interested in it. What better way to teach a child how to spell, than with a clear photo of the word right next to it?

Nothing gets me more excited {behind a good doughnut} than books. I am trying to instill a love of reading with my kids and I think they are catching on. My 1st grader isn't quite up to the reading level of these Diary of a Wimpy Kid books, but he still checks them out from his school library and I'll read bits and pieces to him. Buy a box set like this and kid's will adore it, they'll treasure it. I still have my set of Laura Ingalls Wilder Books {great for girls!} and they will never get placed in the garage sale box. Never.

Every time my kids are at their grandparent's house they pull out the old school hand held Simon game. Every time. I have no idea how it's still working but it is. This new version, Simon Air, is the same concept where kids need to watch, remember and memorize the quick pattern, yet this one is hands free!

Each year, every year I buy the kid's a Christmas movie or two to share. Nothing beats sitting in a cozy family room only lit buy the Christmas tree's lights with a big bowl of popcorn watching a holiday movie together. They love it and I love it that they love it {catch all of that?}. Some of our favorites are The Polar Express, A Christmas Story, Beethoven's Christmas Adventure, Charlie Brown's Christmas Tales, Prancer, Elf and Jack Frost.

You didn't think being a food blogger a cookbook wouldn't be listed, right? It's become a tradition that I get my middle girl a different cookbook each Christmas. She is my cooker and baker of the family and loves helping me in the kitchen. Whenever she is getting a bit spicy with me, I ask her to go and pick out a recipe that we can make together. It instantly calms her down as she'll know she'll have some one-on-one time with Mom. This Cooking Class Cookbook is perfect for ages 6-12 and has a ton of kid's favorites {think chicken nuggets, pizza and applesauce}.

I haven't met one toddler that doesn't like stickers. I've found these sticker activity books are great for long road trips or if you are needing some QUIET time from those munchkins who devour all of our energy. We love animals in our house, so this farm activity book is perfect!

Come on Moms, nothing is better than shoving those kid's out the back door so that both you AND them can get some fresh air. These Eightbit Swivel and Rolling Ride On Cars are perfect for this...kids have energy, lots of it! Their sleek and small design allow for them to be stored easily during the winter months as well, or better yet, bring them inside!

It never fails. I have two girls that have a LOT of hair. I am constantly stepping on hair ponies, picking up headbands and throwing away ones that are just shot. Each Christmas I put new hair accessories in their stockings. Basically I re-stock their supply and then cuss myself out later for doing it. Ha! But, in the end I want them to look cute, and they indeed do.

Our two oldest kids are just 18 months apart. So basically I'm raising twins. Lately, they are super duper into card games and are very competitive. In particular Old Maid and Crazy 8's. I know they got this from me as I was the reigning Concentration and Rummy champ back in the early 90's. No joke. Anywho, I love this 6-Pack of Kids Card Games. I'm purchasing this as a family gift this year!
