Day 7 of my 12 Days of Holiday Giveaways is here!
This party mix will be the mix you take to all of your holiday gatherings.
We are 7 days into my 12 Days of Holiday Giveaways and I hope you are having fun like me! There is still time to enter the Simply Organic Full Set of Spices Giveaway and the Krusteaz Baking Mix Giveaway. Make sure to enter!
Today's recipe and giveaway is no exception. Tis the season for holiday parties, work potlucks and endless gatherings where a "treat" needs to come along.
Did you know some of the best gifts I've received during the holidays are the homemade ones? Give me a homemade treat over a bottle wine any day. Kidding. I didn't really say that. What's wrong with me?
Bring me the homemade treat AND the wine. That is what I meant to say. What I'm meaning by all of this is people love a homemade holiday gift! And better yet wrap up that homemade gift in something fun. Something they can keep and reuse.
A group of my local girlfriends and I meet up for Girl's Night on the first Friday of each month and last month they all came over to my house for pizza, drinks and laughs. Earlier in the day I made a big batch of this White Chocolate Cappuccino Party Mix for us to snack on after....and lord almighty I wasn't going to leave the extras hanging around my house.
So enter in my holiday homemade gift idea...
This giveaway features a TON of cool stuff from the Ball Brand. This company jumped on board with my holiday series in a second and given that they are a company that has been around since 1880, that probably says why. I'm almost positive everyone at some point in their life has used one, touched one or been given one. Taken a drink out of a jar? Opened up a jar of homemade canned salsa? Yep, it's kind of like apple pie, we've all taken a bite.
When my girls left that night I gave them all a big jar of this party mix in one of Ball's new fun purple glass mason jars.
They loved it!
They got to take home a fun purple jar to reuse for whatever they wanted....stuff it with white Christmas lights on a mantle, make a holiday cocktail or even just to place on a shelf in their home office stuffed to the rim with odds and ends.
Glass jars are kinda my thing. I used them for everything. I keep a lot of my dry baking ingredients in them, ones that I don't use too often {nuts, powdered sugar, etc.} and in the summer the husband and I like to drink everything out of them {ice water, iced tea, lemonade} and let's not forget...who is crafty? They store pretty much everything {buttons, markers, clips, etc.}
Talk about an addictive snack mix. I made it in the afternoon, laid it out on wax paper to dry on the table
Bad move.
I should have stuffed it in a closet on a card table out of sight. You know what happens when you let this stuff dry in your kitchen? You walk by it approximately 763 times and you sneak a bite approximately 763 times.
It's crunchy, sweet, salty and pure bliss. Love pretzels? They're in there. Chex mix? There too. Have a hankering for a good warm, coffee-ish cappuccino? In there too.
Make this!
White Chocolate Cappuccino Party Mix
6 c. Chex mix cereal
3 c. salted peanuts
6 c. mini pretzels
1 16 oz. white baking chips
4 T. coconut oil
1. In a large bowl, combine the cereal, peanuts and pretzels.
2. In a microwave safe bowl, heat the chips, coconut oil and cappuccino mix in 30 second intervals, stirring after each until smooth.
3. Pour over the cereal mixture and mix well. Spread onto wax paper lined baking sheets and let cool. Break apart when hardened and store in an airtight container.
