Summertime is all about cooling off and beating the heat.
This Frozen Summertime Yogurt Bark is the perfect treat!
This post is sponsored by Kalona SuperNatural, but all opinons are my own.
How are y'all handling the summertime heat?
Do you get a bit cranky like me? Yet love it too? I understand, that doesn't make much sense, but it's ME to a tee. My day usually goes a bit like this.
Early morning walk {to beat the heat}. Lots of complaining and staying in the morning air conditioning {to beat the heat}. Reading on the back deck to work on my tan {because the sun feels like gold from being inside all morning}. Coming inside swearing I'm not going back out there till tomorrow {because, sweat}. Sitting at night time ball games watching my kids play {my favorite thing} and exclaiming what a beautiful night it is to all my friends.
It's a vicious circle.
Saying all of this, I really do love summer.
I just like to complain too.
A few days ago I needed a "treat" for the kids {who am I kidding, me too} for the multiple times they were coming in and out of the house, running around, often in swimsuits and needing a snack every few minutes.
So I came up with this Frozen Summertime Yogurt Bark! Just two main ingredients and as many toppings as you want. In my case I added three {granola, dried blueberries and coconut}. Any kind of nuts, other fruits or even some chopped dark chocolate would be amazing.
This recipe is the second in my partnership with Kalona SuperNatural as a brand advocate. Do you remember my Strawberries & Cream Pull-a-Part Bread from last month? It went over like gangbusters.
We love their yogurt. You'll often find me eating it for breakfast with a sprinkling of granola on top after I've consumed some morning coffee. I had no doubt featuring their yogurt in this recipe would be easy and fun - its in my fridge anyway!
When my kids were super little and just learning to munch on real food, I would often freeze little "yogurt bites" for them. They loved snacking on them, especially when they were teething. Basically this is the grown up version.
With a nice sprinkling of yummy add-ons.
Kalona SuperNatural's dairy is so rich and perfect. You can taste it. Their milk comes from small, sustainable farms here in Iowa with an average of just 35 cows. Their cows diets range from fresh pasture grasses now in the summer to root vegetables and grains in the winter.
They eat well and in turn we eat well.
Give this yogurt bark a try! It's awesome to snack on, easy to just grab a piece from the freezer and walk out the door. Great for an afternoon snack to tide you over till dinner.
A big thanks to Kalona SuperNatural for sponsoring this post.
