Homemade applesauce has never been easier.

I'm contuining to use my Instant Pot and I'm continuing to LOVE IT. Have you purchased one yet? Is it on your Christmas list?
Do yourself a favor and at least set it in your Amazon cart and think about it. I use this 8 QT version and it's perfect for our 5-person family. But if you're single or just married, this 3 QT version works for smaller batches. A bit in between? Try this 6 QT style.
Be watching for holiday specials soon - they are coming!
Our kids didn't have school Monday {talk about a kick in the gut}, so instead of sitting around and looking at each other we invited some friends to our local apple orchard. On a site note: I completely forgot our 4 year old takes a field trip to that same orchard this Friday, therefore I'll be there twice in ONE WEEK, but I digress.
It could be worse.
Anywho, we went. We picked. We conquered.
I came home with a bushel of sweetness and immediately prepped half the batch for this applesauce. I often make applesauce in the Fall, but I make it the hard way. You know, on the stove? Thankfully this brillant appliance makes it much easier {i.e. I'm not standing over the stove for a loooooooong time stirring}.
I'll also be making an apple pie this weekend {I think}. Our birthday boy never got his birthday meal last week due to our INSANE schedule, so I promised him pie + that meal.
If I can keep everyone from eating all the apples this week I'll have enough for that said pie. The ice cream is already in the freezer waiting {again, if I can keep people from eating it}, because if you have apple pie you have to have ice cream!
Or is that just me?
So basically between this applesauce, that pie and just eating them sliced, I will need another trip to the orchard this Friday to get more apples. I guess two trips is a good thing.
I chose to sweeten our applesauce, but that is completely optional. You can definitely omit the 1/3 cup of sugar and keep it unsweetened. It's a preferance thing. And speaking of omitting things, if you are not a cinnamon fan you can leave that out too.
Although, are there actually people who don't like cinnamon?
I'll tell you what my house SMELLED FANTASTIC. If you need to get in the Fall-ish mood this applesauce will do the trick. The kid's walked in the door from school and immediately were asking what I made.
Put this on your Fall bucket list!
Did you know season bucket lists are a thing? I saw my friend Erin make one over on Instagram the other day and I kinda like the idea. I mean, I make one with the kids for the summer, so why not for the Fall? Just because we are in school doesn't mean we can't do fun things.
As always, if you try this Instant Pot Cinnamon Applesauce let me know! Tag me on any social media {@sweetsavoryeats} and I'll be sure to comment and follow along.
