It's Day 10 of my 12 Days of Holiday Giveaways!
What a special treat I have for you today. Who doesn't need a little getaway next year?
I've found a Midwest beauty for you - The Retreat at Rendered Unique.
We settled on Decorah, Iowa, which is about a 3 hour drive from our town. Just far enough away, yet short enough to get there quickly. We stayed HERE, at the Canoe Creek Lodge. A simple cabin in the country with a private pond and dock that our kids and dog absolutely loved.
I hadn't been to the town of Decorah since high school so I sat down, did some research and was PLEASANTLY SURPRISED of all the things to do there. It's small college town nestled in the bluffs of Northeast Iowa. It's widely known for it's popular nature activities: trout fishing, grand bike trails, rivers, kayaking, parks, waterfalls, hiking trails and so much more.
Beyond nature it's a small college town! So it's filled with shopping, cool restaurants, new breweries, historic landmarks, museums and wineries. There is literally fun on every corner.
On a weekly basis my kids bring up Decorah. We made so many memories there and we'd go back there in a heartbeat!
Owner, Jamie not only has a beautiful 2 bedroom {sleeps 6!}, 2 bath AirBnB to rent out all year long on the top floor, she also owns the gorgeous the popular home decor store below. You'll find yourself staring at the renovated building just driving by.
Her store below is filled with antique furniture, re-habbed vintage finds and handmade home decor and accessories from over 25 local and regional artists.
Aren't her items one of a kind and gorgeous?
And we have even chatted up that gem of a place above the shop yet! Their fun and unique AirBnB upstairs is a completely renovated apartment from 1900. It occupies the entire second floor of the brick house. Full of historic charm and modern conveniences it's the perfect girls trip getaway, babymoon, a romantic weekend away or a place your family can just unwind at during the week.
The master bedroom has a full en suite bathroom and the second bedroom has a queen bed. There is a private den with a queen sleeper sofa {which also doubles as a fun room for the kids!}. The open concept kitchen is perfect for entertaining, while a private second story deck can be accessed via the den.
Are you ready to book your trip yet?
Go ahead! Take a look at their calendar HERE. They have plenty of dates available for 2021 {and it's no question we could ALL use a vacation next year}.
I'm thinking this place would be perfect for my girlfriend's to stay at - then we'd visit some of my favorite Decorah hot spots - the Toppling Goliath Brewery, Mabe's Pizza, Dragonfly Books, Impact Coffee, Oneota Food Co-op, Sugar Bowl Ice Cream Company, Pieces Home Market, Modish, Wildberry Winery, Beyond the Bar Bakery.....and so many more.
I didn't even mention the hiking trails, caves and waterfalls that are AMAZING TO SEE IN PERSON.
So, here's the great news.
I'm giving away a 2-night stay at The Retreat at Rendered Unique!
Now, I fully know many of my readers are not located in the Midwest. But, how about tagging a friend of yours that is? Let's share the love! How good would it feel to gift this stay to someone who needs it?
