Hippity-Hop! Easter's on it's way!
These fun cereal bars are easy to whip up and loved by all.
I asked my fans on Instagram last week what they'd like to see more of for the month of April and Easter foods were on the list!
As well as easy main dishes and healthy salads {we'll get to those}.
But I'd thought I'd start with a fun and easy one first. For a few reasons - have I mentioned were building a new house? And that we are closing in on about one month left in our current house? And that I'm surrounded by moving boxes? And that life is just a wee bit chaotic?
Yeah, let's start with an easy one.
Just take a look at these ooey gooey bars!
My family loves a traditional rice krispie bar anytime of year and often I'll jazz them up using different cereals and candies for various holidays, but I had yet to tackle Easter.
Until now!
These bars are based with rice chex cereal {honestly, one of my old lady favorites}. I love how crisp they are. To make them pop with pastel colors I threw in Easter M&M's, plus a good handful of Easter sprinkles {but really any sprinkle will do}
Quite honestly I'm not sure if there isn't anything more "springy" than this pot of melted marshmallow greatness. If you bring a pan of these to your upcoming Easter or Spring gathering you can bet your bottom dollar they'll be gobbled up quickly
Now, while I love to bring my made-from-scratch carrot cake or my hummingbird cake with pecan cream cheese frosting to gatherings, there is just something so simple about these cereal bars.
Plus {huge bonus}, kids adore them!
Do your kids ever ask to help you in the kitchen? Or randomly ask, "hey Mom can we bake something today"?
And trust me, because I know, that little voice inside your head instantly wants to tell them no {so messy!} Guess what? If you have this fun recipe in your back pocket that requires few ingredients and not much time you can tell them YES.
Who is going to make these for Easter weekend?
They are fun and festive and quick! Pretty much all the requirements you guys always ask for. If you happen to grab the ingredients and love them as much as my family did go ahead and leave me a review below! I always love to hear your feedback.
Until then.....enjoy!
