Oatmeal Caramelita Bars

This classic dessert bar is always a fan favorite.
Caramel and chocolate are sandwiched between two layers of salty, oatmeal dough...the perfect combo.

I've been making these bars since 2017.

If I've done the math correctly, that is now 5 years. Never have I ever taken these to a gathering without them getting devoured.

And now that it's Summertime.....bring on all the potluck loving, barbecue backyard snacking treats for me please!

If you've followed me for any amount of time, you know my family loves a good dessert. In my opinion, every evening meal needs to be followed by something a little sweet.

Are you on board with this?

Golly, I've made a handful over the years. Plenty with lots of sweetness, some fruity, some loaded with chocolate. Here are a few favorites of yours over the years.

I also have a secret to share about desserts.

Find ones you love that don't make a HUGE pan/servings if you don't plan on taking them to a gathering to share with a crowd. That way, you aren't staring at that sweetness 24/7 in your home.

These Oatmeal Caramelita Bars make just 12 servings. Just enough for your family to snack on for a couple of days. Super enjoyable while it's there, but not there long enough to feel bad for eating on it for daaaaaaaaaaaays.

Get my drift?

The crust and topping on these bars is salty and crunchy and fabulous. Between those layers is caramel and chocolate. What could be better?

They end up being chewy and sweet and slightly crunchy on the edges. Just down right PERFECT.

I cannot wait for you to make them! Please print off the recipe below {on the recipe card}, as people will ask for the recipe! And if you can be so kind, please give it a star rating review. That helps other readers to know how great they are.
