I have found my new favorite Fall apple dessert! These Maple Glazed Apple Blondies are hard to resist and would be great to bake for company.
Remember how we moved into this new house of ours back in May? Here's an update. I'm still loving it! We've made it our "home" for sure. One thing I do love doing now is baking in my new kitchen. It's just more fun when you have more space and new items to play around with, you know?
We also know most of our new neighbors (some I've even baked for), but a couple weeks back I was looking out our kitchen window and I noticed a big apple tree just loaded with apples a few houses over and I was drooling. Immediately thinking, "why aren't they picking those apples?"
Problem is, I don't know that new neighbor.
If I did I head right over and ask to pick their apples. Instead, it got me thinking about what new Fall apple dessert I could make. Luckily for you guys, I landed on these!
Over the years I've made so many great apple desserts. I even had someone message me on Instagram last night sharing a photo of their Apple Pumpkin Bread they baked. I had completely forgotten about that recipe. I first published it all the way back in 2013!
I have so many you see, I often forget about them.
Here are some favorites from years past - - - > Apple Peanut Butter Cookies, Apple Pie Bars, Apple Peanut Butter Cheesecake Bars, Caramel Apple Bundt Cake, Rustic Flat Bottom Apple Pie, 5 Minute Apple Toffee Dip.
After settling on "any" apple dessert, I got brainstorming. I found a bottle of maple extract in my pantry and I knew I wanted to incorporate that because in my opinion anything maple goes along really well with anything apple.
I settled on these Maple Glazed Apple Bars!
When the kids walked in from school that day, my daughter said the kitchen smelled like warm pancakes. She was right! Golly, these make your house smell so good.
Perfectly seasoned apples are sandwiched in between a blondie batter (flour, sugar, butter, vanilla, cinnamon, brown sugar, eggs, etc.) It's thick and dense and holds those apples perfectly well.
After baking you pour a light maple infused powdered sugar glaze over top. That glaze seeps into all the nooks and crannies and just makes the most incredibly sweetened bar.
This 9x13 pan makes a thick pan of 24 bars. All of which are so hard to resist!
Per usual, she was disappointed. And per usual I was just trying to guilt her into moving back.
These bars went FAST. The kids devoured them and after about 2.5 days they were gone. I'm a bit ashamed to admit that.
These bars just MELT IN YOUR MOUTH.
The center spiced apples are soft and the maple flavoring just adds to their depth of flavor. And since I know people will ask, I get my maple extract in any grocery store, you can find it right next to vanilla extract. But in case you are having trouble finding it you can also purchase it HERE.
These bars are just perfect for this time of year. If you are gifted some apples, bake them! If you head to the orchard and have extra apples, bake them! Really just bake them regardless, you will not be disappointed.
I'm excited to hear and see your reviews on this one! Be sure to rate them below with a star rating on the attached recipe card. This helps other readers to know if they should make them.
As always, thank you for reading and following along on my food blogging journey.
