Brown Butter Banana Bread

When I first introduced my Famous Banana Bread recipe to you all back in 2019, it quickly became a favorite to many. It is the recipe that once people bake it, it becomes their go to quick bread. 

Over the years I've made a couple variations including my Junk in the Trunk Banana Bread (one filled with chocolate chips, caramel bits and pecans) as well as my very popular Double Chocolate Banana Muffins.

But today my friends I'm introducing a new favorite! This Brown Butter Banana Bread.

What is Brown Butter and How to Use It?

So what exactly is brown butter? Simple answer: it's God's sauce. But for you technical folks it is the simple process of melting down butter over low heat until the milk solids caramelize; giving off a golden color and a toasted and nutty flavor.

The flavor that comes from this is magical. If you are fan of caramels and deep, rich flavors then brown butter is for you. It can be added to any baked good for a fun twist.

Earlier this year I debuted my Salted Butter Pecan Cookies, which also has brown butter in the cookie batter. See how I'm saying using brown butter in any baked good makes it a real good thing? These cookies still get a lot of web traffic. And my Brown Butter Banana Blondies? They are unreal too.

And I have no doubt this version of banana bread will do that same!

This recipe makes just one loaf pan, but you can certainly double the entire recipe if you want to make two loaves. It works!

This quick bread is perfect for after school snacks (my family ate the entire loaf in one sitting). It's also great for morning breakfasts to pair with scrambled eggs or yogurt. I promise you not a single kid you know will turn down a slice.

Plus, it freezes great! If you have extra bananas on hand double it and freeze a loaf.

Just look at that golden color, this banana bread is very hard to resist.
