My kids absolutely love protein balls for after school and in between practices.
This double chocolate version is a big hit!
As a Mom of three (hungry all the time) kids I'm always on the hunt for great options to keep them fuller longer in between school and sports practices.
You guys have loved my Healthy Peanut Butter Banana Bars, my Lunchbox Biscuits, my Peanut Butter Protein Muffins and the big fan favorite Chocolate Dipped Peanut Butter Pretzels.
All have extra protein, while tasting great!
My kids have loved the extra peanut buttery version I make of these - so I figured why not make one extra chocolatey?
All kids love chocolate. This energy ball has mini chocolate chips + the addition of chocolate whey protein powder. We use this kind, but any kind you prefer works just fine. The other ingredients are items you most likely have in your pantry; oats, peanut butter, ground flaxseed, honey, oil and vanilla extract.
This recipes makes 27 protein balls, the perfect amount for a group of hungry kiddos. Once you get them made all up I like to lay them all out on a rimmed baking sheet. I then stick them in the fridge to harden up a bit. After an hour or so they can be transferred to a big Ziploc bag for storage.
They are great straight out of the freezer too!
I've been throwing a couple of these in my youngest's packed school lunch each day - she loves them!
Each one of these comes in at 159 calories, 2 grams of fiber and 6 grams of protein. Not a bad way to grab some protein quick in between activities and meals!
Share this one with your friends and let me know how you much you enjoy them.
