‘Tis the season
for all things egg
nog! This creamy, rich, decadent holiday drink gets turned into a
easy dip for all your holiday parties.

There are two kids in my house who absolutely adore egg nog during
the holiday season. I cannot purchase a carton without it being gone just days
after. Sometimes I think I keep the egg nog people
in business!
My friends at AE
Dairy have a cult following egg nog – which
makes sense as it is a 70+ year old recipe – when recipes have been around that
long they are always good. Their egg nog is made
with hours-fresh milk, cream, fully pasteurized eggs, loads of premium vanilla
and a generous touch of perfectly spiced nutmeg.
Over the years I’ve used egg nog in a variety of ways –
mostly as a replacement for milk in baked goods. Remember my Cranberry
Egg Nog Muffins from last year? They are tender and so flavorful. I also
use it in pancake batter, and probably my favorite way – as a creamer in my
morning coffee.
You’ve got to try that last one – so good!
Both AE
Dairy and I thought – why not turn their egg nog into a
dip for the holidays? It was an easy yes from both of us.
What do we do best at Christmas? We eat. And then eat some
more. Some of my favorite holiday memories are being with family all grazing on
a variety of finger foods set up on a long table. It’s the best way to snack!
This holiday Egg Nog Dip needs to make an appearance
at your gathering.
There are just six easy ingredients in this dessert dip –
classic egg nog, a vanilla pudding mix, frozen whipped topping, spices and
maple extract.
It can be whipped together super quick, stuck in the fridge
and carried to your holiday party without much fuss. I like to serve it with
Nila wafers, squares of graham crackers or any type of shortbread cookie.
My ten-year-old likes to tell me that “egg nog tastes
like a melted vanilla milkshake Mom”. I think she is right. Grab a carton
of AE Dairy’s egg
nog this holiday season, tap a sip, soak in it’s greatness and save a cup
for this fun dip.
