Want to eat your favorite buffalo chicken dip without the guilt?
My version has 28 grams of protein per serving and only 8 carbs.
One of my all time favorite dips at parties is the classic buffalo chicken dip. It's creamy, spicy, warm and just delicious.
But....not the healthiest dip to eat.
So I decided to make my own version, but swap out most of the unhealthy stuff, yet keep the great flavor. And I will say it tastes exactly the same and if you serve it to others, they'll have no idea.
So I sat down, started brainstorming and came up with a list of other ingredients that would still taste good, but would also amp up the protein. Think plain Greek yogurt instead of cream cheese. Easy swaps like that!
I kept the regulars - like buffalo sauce (I used my favorite wing sauce, by something like Frank's hot sauce works great too). I also kept the "ranch" flavor in this dip, but instead of typical ranch dressing I instead used a dry ranch seasoning packet. It still gives you all the ranch flavor, but without the calories and fat.
Look at how beautiful it bakes up!
It only takes 20 minutes to bake up and get hot and bubbly. This recipe has 4 servings. And wait for this.....each serving has 28 grams of protein, just 249 calories and only 8 carbs.
Isn't that great?
And if you eat this dip with carrots or broccoli or perhaps some healthier pita chips or gluten free crackers, it's not a bad meal or snack! Especially if you pare it with other healthier items.
Now, pushing all this healthy talk aside, this dish is still a showstopper. My kids dug deep into it after school and had absolutely NO idea I made a ton of friendly swaps. They gobbled it up like it was the last thing on this earth.
Hey, when your kids approve you already know it will be a hit with adults as well.
Print off this recipe today! Save it for the next party or just prep it for the week to have on hand for a snack that's amped up with protein.
